Often, my team and I start our work morning with coffee in the kitchen and a short chat. It's a great opportunity to share problems with colleagues and feel like you're not alone with a difficult task or problem.
When working remotely, it is difficult to maintain such activities regularly, and the level of engagement is not as high.
You can also cross paths with colleagues from other areas and engage in valuable small talk. For example, I once went to the kitchen to get an apple and met a UX researcher there who was studying how one function works in the service I work on. The results of the study were not yet fully formulated, but she had already shared some insights. At that time, we were planning the promotion of a new feature, and it was important for us to foresee the details so that we would not have to change the advertising creatives later. Such non-obvious communication helped us finish the project faster and do it better.
Reason 5: Brainstorming is more effective
When we are in the same room, it is much easier to generate at&t email database creative ideas. While we are throwing ideas around, we always manage to come up with something funny, laugh together and switch our attention for a while. This format unites, and everyone feels involved. And there are more quality ideas.
There are also more tools for planning and brainstorming in the offices, for example, various stickers, huge marker boards the size of the entire wall. Once our developers updated the scheme for forwarding UTM tags in our service. To present the logic to us, they drew a huge scenario path on the marker board. We discussed it together, corrected something, highlighted the accents. It turned out very clear and much faster than if we had called each other remotely.
Reason 6: It’s easier to drive the team
When I have a big smart task, such as organizing and promoting a conference, I prefer to work on it in the office. As a rule, different roles are involved in such tasks - a copywriter writes the text, a designer makes banners, and a developer writes the code to place the banners inside the service. And when we are together in the office, it is easier to push each employee, sometimes we can quickly discuss something or look at the developments. This way the work goes faster, because you do not have to wait a long time for a response, for example, to an email.
