Don't get me wrong - even a barebones Hubspot is a fantastic tool for any business.But Hubspot has a lot of tools in its arsenal that many companies don’t use. If Hubspot is so valuable at its most basic, imagine how useful it could be when all of its tools are properly leveraged.

Let’s review six commonly underused Hubspot features we found when working with clients. With many of them available in entry-level subscriptions, there’s no excuse not to use them, especially given their power.

So let's get started!


Hubspot Conversations (all plans)

Conversations can directly interact with visitors (especially with chatbots), so use them wisely. Streamlining and automating your processes is valuable, but make sure it never comes at the expense of user experience. Don’t use Conversations as an excuse to give your users less human interaction.


Hubspot Worklows (Marketing Pro and Enterprise)
As Hubspot describes, Workflows are about “automating your marketing, sales, and service processes and making your team more efficient.” Workflows are tools that can do different things depending on your goals.

On the one hand, they can be used to automate the publishing of content. On the other hand, depending on the user, you can personalize the content you invite them to consume. Hubspot Workflows can be used to automate this task. Workflows will send a personalized flow of content emails based on the type of visitor you are targeting. This is extremely valuable because it allows you to automate the process of personalizing your content marketing without requiring large amounts of human labor to support it.

Alternatively, you can use workflows to automate specific, individualized emails that you send to specific people at specific times rather than to your entire mailing list in bulk.


The best example of this is with dead shopping carts (online carts that were abandoned just before completing a purchase). When you detect a dead shopping cart, you can send an email to the user to remind them that they have not completed the purchase. You can even make them a small offer, such as a discount code, to encourage them to complete their order.

Of course, since every customer has a shopping cart, you would need to be able to keep track of each shopping cart and schedule each email accordingly. Workflows automate this entire process and will send dead shopping cart reminders without you having to lift a finger after setting things up.


Hubspot App (all plans)
The Hubspot CRM App is your Hubspot Swiss Army Knife. It won’t necessarily add a lot of features, but the convenience of having so many Hubspot features at your fingertips is too good to pass up.

The app allows you to check and manage all of your Hubspot tasks right from the app. Deadlines, meetings, updates, and reminders are all there and allow you to seamlessly communicate with your team. Regardless of whether your team is on mobile or desktop, they'll see what you're doing, and you'll be able to communicate with them even if you're not in the office.

The app can also help sync any information you have on your phone with Hubspot. This is especially helpful when you're trying to contact people you have on your phone through Hubspot.
