What are the rules for collective vacations?

Articles 139 and 140
“ Art. 139. Collective vacations may be granted to all employees of a company or of certain establishments or sectors of the company.
1. Holidays may be taken in two annual periods, as long as neither of them is less than 10 (ten) consecutive days.
2. For the purposes set out in this article, the employer shall notify the local body of the Ministry of Labor, at least 15 (fifteen) days in advance, of the start and end dates of the vacation, specifying which establishments or sectors are covered by the measure.
3. Within the same period, the employer shall send a copy of the aforementioned communication to the unions representing the respective professional category, and shall arrange for a notice to be posted in the workplace.
Art. 140. Employees hired for less than 12 (twelve) months will enjoy proportional vacations at that time, beginning a new acquisition period.
Art. 141. When the number of employees covered by collective vacations exceeds 300 (three hundred), the company may, by means of a stamp, make the annotations referred to in art. 135, § 1.
1º The stamp, the model of which will be approved by the Ministry of Labor, will dispense with the reference to the acquisition period to which, for each employee, the vacations granted correspond.
2. Once the procedure indicated in this article has been adopted, the company will be responsible for providing the employee with a certified copy of the receipt corresponding to the payment of the amount.
3º Upon termination of the employment contract, the employer will note in the CTPS the dates of the acquisition periods corresponding to the collective vacations enjoyed by the employee.
Labor Reform
