for soils with a significant gravel content, the ideal option is a columnar foundation
For rocky soil, any type of foundation can be used except for screw foundation
Since porous foam blocks are capable of storing heat for a long time, additional thermal insulation may be required only for a building intended for breeding domestic animals. Walls and ceilings can be insulated with mineral wool or inexpensive foam plastic. Expanded clay or slag are used for floor thermal insulation.

Laying foam blocks
Laying foam blocks

You can build such a barn quite cheaply and quickly. The standard office 365 data of foam blocks are 20x30x60 cm, so the process of erecting a building from them will be much faster than from brick.

Laying is done using a special glue, which can be purchased ready-made, or cement mortar (cement-sand ratio 3:1)
The first block is installed at the highest point. In the future, it will serve as a beacon for aligning the remaining blocks horizontally. It is laid only on cement mortar. Glue is not used in this case.
Then a second block is placed in the opposite corner of the wall. A thread is pulled between the blocks to align the rows.
For the outer blocks, it is better to select the most even products with ideal angles. Further alignment of the walls will be easier
The remaining blocks are installed between the two corner blocks. If necessary, one of them is trimmed.
The adhesive for foam blocks is more flexible and easier to work with than regular cement mortar. It is spread over the surface with a notched trowel in a 5-millimeter layer.
The blocks are driven together with a rubber hammer. Since the mixture begins to harden after 10-15 minutes, they should not be moved from their place after this time.
To strengthen the walls, the first and every fourth row are necessarily reinforced with a metal mesh or rods. They are also laid in places where lintels are located and under window openings
Installation of the mauerlat. Installation of rafters

After the masonry is completed and has dried, 50x150 mm beams are attached to the top row of walls, acting as a mauerlat – a support for future rafters. It is mounted on metal studs with a pitch of 120 cm.
