Twitch justifies changes in revenue sharing by citing the high costs of its service
The $100,000 cap set by Twitch will not be implemented once, but will be applied every year with each annual renewal. When streamers renew their annual agreement with Twitch, their earnings will be counted up to $100,000. Once this figure is exceeded, the distribution system will change from 70/30 to 50/50. Likewise, when the twelve-month contract expires, a new income calculation will begin until reaching $100,000.

Twitch says the change in revenue sharing will not necessarily translate into a decrease in the pay of content creators. The Amazon subsidiary says that the eventual decline in streamers' income will be offset by the recent change in turkey number data the split of advertising revenue, which has been 55/45 in favor of creators since June.

On the other hand, last August from their exclusivity agreements with the platform so that they could also do live broadcasts on YouTube and other channels and therefore have the option of other sources of income (with which to compensate for the "cut" now announced by the Amazon subsidiary ).

Twitch justifies the changes in revenue sharing by citing the extremely high costs of its service (around $1,000 per month for each streamer with 100 simultaneous viewers who broadcasts an average of 200 hours per month). The platform also points out that creators have increased their earnings by 27% in the last five years thanks to new features such as Prime, Community Gifts, Hype Train and the advertising incentive program.
