The 1st PHP Fest takes place in Maceió: an event for the technology community.

The first edition of “PHP Fest” will take place this Thursday (28) at the Senac Poço auditorium at 6:30 pm. A meeting to learn more about web programming with a get-together featuring the technology people’s favorite food: pizza. The meeting is organized by the PHP-AL community, together with the 0xE Hacker Club group and with special support from 3 100% Alagoan companies that produce technology. The aim of this evening is to mobilize and unite local professionals, fostering the market in the discovery of talents and the dissemination of knowledge.

It is a “server-side” web development language, that is, it is responsible for the action of the web application on the server side, connecting databases or processing data (input and output) for the end user. “Today, it is the most widely used language in the world, being adopted even by web giants such as Facebook itself. It is constantly updated and presents new features every day, in addition to significant performance improvements,” explained id5 Development Manager, João Bosco.

The topics covered will be: PHP7, Yii2 and Laravel. PHP7 is the latest version, which brings important changes to the structure and performance. “This new release is up to 9 times faster than its previous version”, adds Bosco.

Yii2 and Laravel are “frameworks”, sets of functions and standards that make the developer’s work easier and speed up the construction of an application through a structure. Each of these “PHP frameworks” has its own peculiarities. “While Yii2 focuses on superior performance and code reuse, Laravel’s strong points are its friendly learning curve and simplicity of use. However, both are powerful tools in the hands of a programmer, and it is up to him to choose the best application for each”, explained the manager.
