How to detect your competition on the Internet

Post by shukla7789 »

For your SEO strategy to be effective, one of the first things you should do is identify your competition. For example, if you have a fast food chain, Burger King and McDonald's will be your rivals to beat. But depending on the niche, it is not always so obvious to discover your competitors. That is why in this post I teach you how to detect your competition on the Internet.

How to detect your competition on the Internet
Let me be generous, I'm not going to explain one but three ways to identify your competition:

The easiest way
There are several tools on the Internet to search for ios database websites. The one I use most often is Similar Site Search . Its operation couldn't be simpler, just enter the address of your website and hit search. You can refine your search by choosing the language of the results and the country.

The most pro way
Google also offers us a quick way to find websites similar to yours. Just use the related operator.

For example, to search for websites similar to yoseomarketing I would put this in Google:

related:yoseomarketing.com

The good thing is that this method shows you the websites that are your competition according to Google, something to keep in mind.

(If you found this operator useful, I invite you to learn about other Google search operators )

The most effective way
The above two methods are useful but do not always work. You will find that depending on the website, sometimes no results appear. In such cases, there is no other option than to do things the old-fashioned way, a method that paradoxically remains the most effective.

Write down the main keywords you want to rank for and search for them on Google. Look at the websites that appear in the first results for those searches. That's your competition.

You will find websites that only compete with you for one keyword and others that appear in several searches. These last ones are the ones you should pay the most attention to.

What is the point of discovering your competition?
Once you have identified your competition, you will have a benchmark to compare yourself with. You will know if you are doing better or worse than the rest. But beyond analysis and statistics, the competition is a source of inspiration since you can:

See what positioning actions they put into practice
See what keywords they are ranking for (and attack the ones you are not)
Spy on their backlinks and try to replicate them
It's basically about watching what they do and taking note of what works best for them.
