Source language and target language
If you want to hire a translator, always be very clear about the language in which the document you are sending is written, so that the bidding agency can be sure to have the right translator. For example, a translator working with French will not necessarily translate into Canadian French.
And this can cause problems later in the process, if it is not clearly stated from the start.
You also need to be sure of your target language and target audience.

Deadline
Determine what your maximum deadline is and subtract 10 business days from it to set your deadlines.

Indicate a specific date when choosing a deadline such as “desired delivery on 02/20/2022”, not “in 3 weeks”.
Specific instructions for hiring a translator
Remember to provide the translator with any specific instructions they may need to work in line with your expectations.

Tell him everything he needs to know and what you expect, in terms of formatting, language style, but also everything you know about your target audience.

For example, if you want to translate a document whose source language is German into French, but it happens that a passage of the text is in Polish , you will need to ensure that the translator understands the entire text.

Do they respond quickly? Do they answer all your questions? Are their emails clear and concise, or written in poor French? What does your gut say, and what does the quote say?
