No less of a challenge for the domestic IT

Post by tanjimajuha20 »

of the Minister for Digital Transformation Sergey Kiryushin pointed out the growing risks of choosing one developer in each class of software or IT equipment. "What if something goes wrong with the only solution?" he asks.

Large industrial enterprises in Russia traditionally emphasize that their task is not import substitution. This position was voiced by Andrey Badalov, Vice President of P chile whatsapp resource JSC Transneft, who oversees digital transformation, IT and automation: "Our main task is to ensure the continuity and security of the company's business, and it is from this position that we need to look at whether to apply this or that solution. And then many import substitution issues will resolve themselves."

Representatives of the IT director community also see larger problems than the multiple duplication of IT products and the passion of industry corporations for insourcing IT development. "We as a country have found ourselves in a difficult situation, and we need to review much of what has been done for many years," said Evgeny Abakumov from Rosatom. "In particular, we will have to rethink the routes of communication networks and the location of data centers: for example, a data center in the Belgorod region now does not look very effective."

sector is the risk of reduced funding. "There is no money in the country. All companies are tightening their belts: excise taxes are growing, new contributions to the budget are appearing on a voluntary and semi-voluntary basis, and in a couple of years there will be no money left for IT development," predicts Tamara Merebashvili, Deputy General Director, Head of Corporate and Property Relations at PJSC Inter RAO. "IT specialists will have to unite in consortiums, and both solution providers and customers will begin to consolidate. And the number of IT products will decrease."

The absence of domestic hardware solutions (or electronic component base in them) also causes concern among participants of the Russian IT market, and this is not only about computer equipment. "You can talk as much as you like about servers and storage systems, but there is something that each of us constantly holds in our hands - a smartphone or a tablet. And in this segment there is nothing domestic: processors are from the USA or Taiwan, hardware is supplied by Taiwan, Korea and China, mobile OS and services - by the USA and China, built-in app stores - by the USA, China and Korea," said Dmitry Altukhov from FRII. "As long as we have phones and tablets in our hands that are completely controlled by the United States, there is no point in talking about technological sovereignty." At the same time, he noted that Russia has a mobile operating system and sovereignty in this sector can be ensured in Russia in five to seven years of active actions.

At the same time, Dmitry Altukhov noted the smallness of the Russian market. "Therefore, we need to add markets of friendly countries in order to collectively reach a population of 1 billion people - this will allow Russia to achieve parity with China, where we are not expected," he suggested.

Alexey Melnikov said that Fplus has already begun to attract team leaders and developers from China, Singapore and Arab countries. "Was it in vain that the Chinese trained hundreds of thousands of specialists?" he joked sadly.

All IT directors complain about the personnel shortage. Tamara Merebashvili predicts a shortage of specialists not only in IT, but also in engineering specialties. And Kirill Menshov predicts a total shortage of any employees by 2030. "Even a courier in six or seven years will cost as much as a 1C developer now," he said. The entire community sees a way out of the personnel shortage situation - for both IT developers and customers - in large-scale automation and deep digital transformation.
