The current situation: more than a year resisting a global pandemic that has completely transformed the normality as we knew it; a global economic crisis; uncertainty floods every area of our lives.... The logical thing would be to think that people are clinging to their jobs to ensure a certain stability in the face of this situation , however, boom , the opposite is happening.

Against all odds, in the US and around the world, employees are panama number dataset their jobs at a record pace. Why is this happening?

The great resignation , or The great resignation
Nearly four million workers left their jobs in April last year, and 41% of workers worldwide are considering leaving their jobs (according to a Microsoft study).

The causes? There are all kinds of speculations:

The pandemic was a turning point in daring to change one's life: for many people who were not happy in their jobs, the pandemic has pushed them to take the step of daring to change their lives.
Power struggles with their bosses: after trying out more flexible working models , enjoying the benefits of teleworking and asynchronous work, they have returned to the office as if none of that had existed. The employee prefers to give up rather than return to the same situation as in the past.

They have reflected on their career paths: they have decided to shift their professional lives towards other careers, either guided by their vocation, or because they preferred to find work in more stable industries.

In search of conciliation: they have opted to find a work modality that allows them greater flexibility so that they do not have to give up even a second more to achieve that real balance between work and life.

Having to deal with difficult personal situations: parents who have to take care of their children due to the closure of nurseries and schools; sick or vulnerable people who are afraid of getting sick, or infecting their loved ones...

They have sought better conditions in general: many of them have preferred to continue to support themselves with the employment subsidy than to accept the same jobs for lower wages; or the same salary with roles that require greater commitment and responsibility. On this subject even the President of the United States, Joe Biden , has expressed his opinion

Is there anything negative about employees saying “no” to a job offer?

That an employee can have the freedom, and the ability, to say “no” to a job is not only not a bad thing, but it should be a very positive thing . Many things are changing, and we already know that the future of work is now, it is today.

The real case of a worker who dared to refuse a job after being forced by her boss to attend a six-minute face-to-face meeting, means that, increasingly, they know what they want, or rather, what they don't want . They don't want anything that doesn't fit them, and that's very Shaker-like .

And what do they want? Confidence, freedom, FLEXIBILITY, being able to decide how, when and where they work.

Will this be the boom of the freeworker revolution?
At Shakers we have always been clear that it is essential that the activity to which we dedicate most of our lives (work) motivates us, has a purpose that we share and makes us happy.

More and more people are waking up to this and daring to take steps forward to join this great revolution in which we will reinvent the future in our own way, achieving a work model that makes us happy.

Being a freelancer is a good option for those who prefer flexibility and less commitment to traditional work models. However, sometimes it is difficult to take the step and launch into the world of independent work due to the dizziness of certain procedures, paperwork, formalities, etc.
