What motivated you to found Mapmakers?

Post by subornaakter20 »

—What is the most important thing you have learned in your young age but long career in the online world?
Life is really short and uncertain, but at the same time amazing and exciting. Face it.
What is it based on? Does it currently bring you any profit?
Mapmakers was created by Enrico Ahrens , Oscar Valdelvira and myself. Mapmakers was created based on our lifestyle. When you look back and think about everything that has happened so far, you realize that there is no such thing as a map, we can all draw our own . When you realize how what you do impacts the people and the world around you, then you realize that you can create positive change in people.

Mapmakers is a social change platform created to empower other people to take the lead in their own lives. We believe that personal and professional stories can inspire other people. So if we can create a place where there are enough valuable stories like this, we will end up inspiring and annoying thousands of people, hopefully pharmacy database millions.

Yes, the greatest benefit that I could obtain at this moment is the feeling of helping many people who, like me at some point, were lost, without direction, discouraged or simply needed that boost to jump into the void. Mapmakers is not a business project, it is a project of change and the best change is the one that comes in the form of a gift . A gift is an act of human generosity that changes the one who receives it and the one who gives it and it does not have to be reciprocal.

—Do you think that content marketing today is oriented towards Human Media or Social Media?
I think everyone talks about content marketing but very few people actually use it as such and if they do, they leave the word “marketing” out. I think we don’t put enough effort, intent and purpose into creating content that is truly goal-oriented . Not only that, but we only manage to get to the impact phase, we leave out the connection, linking, action and conversion (phases in chronological order) and that is exactly what Human Media is about.

—How close or far are we from organizations understanding and applying the concept of Human Media?
Many are already doing Human Media, when they know who their customers are, when they engage with them, when they recognize their needs and do something to meet them . When they listen instead of blasting out messages or blabbering. Every time you offer warmth, humanity, vulnerability and generosity through the social web, you are in that very moment applying the Human Media approach.

—Tell us about your recent addition to the BCC speaker portfolio.
A couple of months ago , BCC International Speakers , the first international speaker agency in the Hispanic world, contacted us to explore the possibility of working together. We have had 3 previous approaches where each party has confirmed that there is affinity, resonance, affection and desire to work hard and continue learning. From there it has been easy to understand each other. The objective is to continue growing and professionalizing my role as a speaker, which I try to combine with my daily work, new projects and initiatives. It is not easy to attend to all the commitments, events, trips, and so on while getting your hands dirty. However, the result is gratifying, because relentless work begs for relentless results. Right after the conference tour through 6 cities in the US, I have already closed three very powerful industrial events with BCC Speakers.

As I was saying, being part of BCC Speakers is an important step to continue contributing value, making things happen and trying to create change in people and organizations around the world , especially for someone who was told at the age of 8 that due to his dyslexia there was no guarantee that he would be able to write and read normally. It seems to be true, there is no map.
