Dream of classless theater

The best theater is provided by the theater itself. This is also what happened in the Zoom debate about the future use of the Zurich Schauspielhaus. Title: What does the Pfauen of the future need from an artificial perspective? The background is well known: The Zurich City Council wants to destroy the traditional hall for 115 million francs, but resistance has formed, including from the "Save the Pfauen" committee , which the author co-initiated. The Zurich City Council must now decide.

The debate showed one thing above all: how big america rcs data the gap is between artistic standards and a sense of tradition. The proponents of demolition: the charming Benjamin von Blomberg (Co-Director of the Schauspielhaus) and Barbara Ehnes (internationally recognized stage designer) were carefully lit, the opponent and proponent of the current hall, the Swiss director Stephan Müller, argued from the depths of the room, the darkness of the home office (see picture below). Nevertheless: Müller argued clearly, well-founded and succinctly, but none of his interlocutors really wanted to hear it. Was it because of the Zoom?

It should be noted that Ms Ehnes, who was the most vocal in calling for the theatre to be demolished, has long since returned to Berlin and von Blomberg – in her own words – will most likely no longer be working in Zurich when the theatre reopens.
