Set one of the domain names as canonical

Post by surovy113 »

Search engines see the www and non-www versions of the same page as two different pages, and duplicate content issues can occur. To avoid this, set up a master domain version for your website using the redirection method that works best for you.

Such indexing will not result in algorithmic penalties. However, for the best ranking results, make sure that the version you set as the primary is the one Google displays in search results. In the Site Audit tool, find the Redirects section and see if you have a redirect set up to the primary (either www or non-www) version of your domain.

Choose a content management system that is SEO-friendly.
Content management systems (CMS) are supposed to make website creation easier. But sometimes they do the opposite. CMSs can present additional SEO problems, such as automatic generation of duplicate content, bad URLs, limited customization of key elements on the page, and an overall limited feature set. So, considering a good CMS from the start will save you trouble.

Implement SEO-friendly URLs.
Although the URL is a very light ranking factor, it is the first thing Googlebot crawls on a new page. Creating SEO-friendly physician database URLs doesn’t cost you anything, but your site will certainly benefit from SEO best practices for URLs.

How to create SEO-friendly URLs:
Use keywords in your URLs to make them appear more relevant to both users and search engines.

Optimize the length of URLs so that they are no longer than 75 characters.

Use static URLs, i.e. URLs without symbols. Dynamic URLs are not user-friendly or search engine-friendly.

You can find all URL issues in the Website Audit module of WebSite Auditor, under the URL section. This is where you will see all warnings about long URLs, dynamic URLs, etc.

Setting up analytical tools.
To track your website traffic and performance, you need to add the Google Analytics tracking code and verify your website in Google Search Console (or other webmaster tools that you consider relevant for your region, such as Bing Webmaster, Yahoo Webmaster Tools, Naver Webmaster Tools, etc.). Sure, there are alternative traffic counters and analytics tools like Mixpanel or Matomo, but Google products are truly versatile and can be integrated with most other platforms.
