What type of audiovisual translation should you choose?
Before deciding which technique to use to translate your productions, your questions will focus on the nature of your content, your objective and the impact you wish to achieve, the needs or requirements of the audience you are addressing and also, of course, your budgetary constraints. Depending on your project, each method will have advantages and disadvantages:


Voice-over allows viewers to fully concentrate on the visual content, without being distracted by the display of text and the need to read. This technique is preferred for reports, interviews and documentaries, video content where the voices of several characters intervene, or broadcasting complex dialogues. It has the advantage of preserving the voices and intonations of the original recording, which can be heard in the background.

Subtitling
Subtitling consists of displaying on-screen a synchronous translation of the original audio content. This employment data technique is generally less expensive than voice-over. It allows for the exact and faithful reproduction of the original message and style, which it also ensures good visibility. However, it can distract the viewer's attention from the visual and audio content of your production, and does not always allow for precise monitoring of conversations involving several speakers.
