Step 1: Open the Run dialog box by pressing Windows+R. Type cmd and press Ctrl+Shift+Enter to open the command prompt with administrator rights.
Step 2: Type the below command in the cmd window to stop the Windows Update service and press Enter.
net stop wuauserv
