1. Call for Papers: ESIL Interest Group on International Legal Theory and Philosophy. The IGILTP is inviting abstracts for an Agora Panel Proposal with the title ‘On What Basis Should International Law be Reconstructed?’. This Agora Panel Proposal will be submitted to the 2025 ESIL Annual Conference on “Reconstructing International Law” to be held 10–13 September 2025 in Freie Universität Berlin, Germany. They invite abstracts for papers addressing the theme of reconstruction, from a variety of perspectives exploring questions, such as whether and why reconstruction is desirable, whether reconstruction is occurring, how and by whom it is occurring, and whether it should be occurring in one way or another. Abstracts no longer than 500 words together with a short author bio (no longer than 250 words containing name, affiliation, email and phone contact details, whether they are an ESIL member, and relevant publications) should be submitted by 12pm (CEST) 15 January 2025 to the following email accounts: [email protected] and [email protected]. 2. Call for Abstracts: Yearbook of International Disaster Law. A call for abstracts has been issued for the seventh issue of the Yearbook of International Disaster Law, edited by Brill. This year, the Yearbook welcomes abstracts paytm database related to both its Thematic section on “Armed Conflicts, Armed Forces and Disasters” and its General section where authors could address any legal issue relevant to international disaster law, implications for international law arising from disaster scenarios, recent practice in this area (e.g. international documents; case-law) or national analysis related to disaster law. Details of the call can be found here. Deadline for abstracts (300-500 words): 15 February 2025.

4. The Centre for Fundamental Rights at Hertie School: PhD Scholarship. The Hertie School is offering one three-year scholarship for an exceptional candidate to pursue a full-time PhD in the field of Fundamental Rights starting from September 2025. The successful candidate will be part of the Centre for Fundamental Rights team at the Hertie School. Deadline for applications is 31 January 2025. Find more information here.
