2. Call for Papers: Future Generations Litigation and Transformative Changes in Environmental Governance Workshop. Aarhus University and ELTE Law School are convening a joint workshop on ‘Future Generations Litigation and Transformative amazon database Changes in Environmental Governance’ to be held at ELTE University in Budapest on 8-9 June 2023. The workshop probes the growing body of future generation litigation case-law with the view to appraise the extent to which intergenerational rights and obligations can have a transformative impact on fundamental concepts and legal doctrines in environmental and climate governance. The keynote address will be delivered by Professor Klaus Bosselmann (University of Auckland) and the event will close with the endnote of Professor Mary Christina Wood (University of Oregon). The organizers welcome submissions on any of the topics listed in the Call for Papers, which is available here. The deadline is 31 January 2023, and the aim is to prepare an edited volume from the papers discussed at the workshop with a leading international publishing outlet.

3. Call for Papers: Externalization of Migration Control Workshop. States increasingly delegate migration control to third states and parties. They do so with a view to preventing migrants from reaching their shores, applying for territorial asylum, or invoking fundamental rights guarantees. States have been reluctant, however, to recognize that rights violations committed in the context of these extraterritorial practices give rise to accountability. On 26 May 2023, Utrecht University’s Focus Area on Migration and Societal Change will organize a workshop on this growing phenomenon of externalization of migration control. The organization welcomes papers that engage with this issue, especially from an international legal accountability perspective. Early-career researchers (at the doctoral or post-doctoral stage) are encouraged to apply.
