What are US tariffs and what has the Trump administration done?

The Trump administration has dropped the bomb: a 25% tariff on a wide range of products imported from the European Union. This is not a small technical adjustment, but a real earthquake in international trade relations . Some of the pillars of the European economy are being hit, including:

Automotive

Pharmaceutical

Microchip

The logic? Apparently simple: protect the American economy and relaunch “Made in USA” by penalizing foreign products, which will now cost more. The result, however, is far from trivial.

These duties translate into an immediate increase in consumer line data prices for Americans, but also into a compression of profit margins for all European companies that export to the United States. It doesn't matter if you produce in Milan or Madrid: if your target market is on the other side of the Atlantic, you are now in a minefield.
