Disadvantages for digital nomads and remote work

Post by sakibkhan22197 »

The same study by Buffer et al. mentioned above also revealed some negative factors of remote working, with respondents complaining:

I don't get out enough because there is no reason to leave the home office (21 percent)
Loneliness (15 percent)
work across time zones (14 percent)
stay motivated (11 percent)
Difficulty finishing work/work-life balance (11 percent)
Overtime (9 percent)
Difficulty concentrating on work (9 percent)
Difficulties in communication and collaboration (8 percent)
When choosing a destination country, digital nomads particularly consider the following points:

Cost of living
Security (stable political and economic conditions, health care, etc.)
stable and fast internet
Offer of leisure, culture, tourism, etc.
an active community
Because of the low cost of living and the existing community, Bali and Bangkok, for iceland phone number data example, are popular destinations for digital nomads.

But apparently, costs aren't everything, and the cliché of life on a sunny beach doesn't hold true for everyone, as user statistics from the international portal Nomads.com show: In 2025, Bangkok will be "only" the second most visited city behind London, and Thailand will be "only" the third most visited country by users registered with Nomads.com, after the USA and Spain. It should be noted that 44 percent of users are Americans.

As the survey on disadvantages revealed, 11 percent of remote workers surveyed feel lonely. Therefore, anyone considering relocating abroad and giving up their usual private life, leaving family, friends, acquaintances, and colleagues at least physically, should consider in advance how many direct social contacts they need and how they will find them in their new location. Community meetings for expats or digital nomads, as well as language courses, are good ways to meet like-minded people.
