What is CNPJ?
CNPJ is the acronym for National Registry of Legal Entities . It is a type of document designated by the Federal Revenue Service and represents the identification of a company or business legalized by the Government.
The CNPJ structure contains 14 numbers, separated by periods, as in the model below:
XX.XXX.XXX/XXXX-XX.
Each numeric block represents, respectively: company registration (8 digits before the slash), opening registration (4 numbers after the slash), and verification digit (last 2 numbers after the dash).
The CNPJ number contains the following information about the company:
Opening date;
Name;
Trade name (if applicable);
National Economic Activities Classification Code (CNAE);
Secondary activities code;
Description of the legal nature
Address
Registration status (active, suspended, unfit, withdrawn, null or inactive);
Data of the partner or partners.

Article 2 of the Decree indicates that the company's registration information (through the CNPJ) or the responsible individual's (through the CPF) must be available in the virtual store, prominently and easily visible, to guarantee the integrity of the business and the rights of consumers.
