Dakar, February 20 (APS) – Senegal Digital SA, the successor to the former State Information Technology Agency (ADIE), officially launched its brand on Monday, an event designed to present its service catalog and the areas in which it operates to the public.

Senegal Digital Limited (Senum.sa) has launched its service catalog, now open to public and private companies, with a view to strengthening digitalization, announced its CEO, Cheikh Bakhoum.

Senum.sa will now "provide a number of israel mobile database and services for companies in the public sector as well as the private sector," he said.

Minister of Communication, Telecommunications and Digital Economy Moussa Bocar Thiam presided over the official launch of the brand.

According to Mr. Bakhoum, this ceremony marks "an important step in the life" of Digital Senegal, "an entity that has just been established by the government of Senegal."

The institutional transformation of the company will make it possible to strengthen the "digitalization" so desired by the Head of State, but also to "make profitable all the investments that have been made by the State on behalf of the State of Senegal," he said.

Cheikh Bakhoum discussed the various products that will enable Senegalese people to access quality services through digital technology.

"These are services related to hosting in our data centers, and connectivity, particularly through the fiber optic network deployed throughout the country, which is now open to the private sector. These are also the services of the submarine cable that will soon be launched by the President of the Republic," he explained.

Senum.sa provides services "as part of training with Senegal Digital Academy" but also "as part of the innov'lab, an entity that will support start-ups in working on government issues."

The new public limited company also has a dedicated offering for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small and medium-sized industries (SMIs) in the context of accommodation in Senegal and also for the various start-ups operating in the country. "All these efforts will help position Senegal as a next-generation digital hub," Mr. Bakhoum argued.

"This launch also marks an important step in the framework of our country's sovereignty because President Macky Sall is keen for Senegalese data to remain in Senegal and in this context our infrastructure is ready to accommodate the maximum number of data platforms, whether for administrations or for the private sector," he stressed.
