On June 17th, the last Cava&Twitts of the season was held at the B Hotel. The theme chosen for the occasion was Banking 2.0 , and we had the presence of three great speakers: Pol Navarro from Banc de Sabadell, Fernando Egido from Caja Navarra and Xavier Bermúdez from La Caixa.
During the session, various topics related to the changes that new technologies are producing in the banking sector were discussed. Marc Cortés broke the ice by asking the guests how the Internet and social networks have changed the banking business.
The first to respond was Fernando Ejido who said:
– Nothing has changed yet, there is still a long way bc data singapore to go because what we are experiencing is a social revolution, not a technological one”
– “ From the user’s point of view, the perception is different ; they can now compare information in a more open and simple way.”
– “ Technology, banking 2.0, has to be able to maintain the trust that was given by the small town bank where you know the staff”
– “ Banks have to adapt to society , which is far ahead”
Pol Navarro responded to the same question by saying that “ social networks are creating new models that compete with financial institutions ” and that “the Internet and social networks create challenges and threats to the business model, in a market in which financial institutions were leaders.” He also clarified that “another change is that conversations no longer take place on the channels of the institutions or in traditional media . We have to listen.” For Banc Sabadell, the next step is to stop listening and start talking , to become part of the conversation by adding value.
Finally, Xavier Bermúdez added that “ social networks have internally changed organisations. There are operations that are carried out 80% through these channels.” And to conclude the question, he finished with a great phrase for reflection: “ humanising the relationship with the Bank .”
Before moving on to the second part of the event, cava and catanias, it was concluded that the Bank has to learn from other sectors and implement the good practices that they carry out successfully . With this phrase we went to the terrace and ended the season. Now we will have to wait until next October, when a special edition will be held to celebrate the second anniversary of Cava&Twitts .
