It is well known that Facebook (now Meta) has invested billions of dollars in launching the famous metaverse . Mark Zuckerberg does not stop in his efforts to carry out a project that promises to revolutionize the technological market (and in fact, it is already doing so).

But despite the high expectations that have been created around this concept, the metaverse has its lights and shadows. One of those shadows that hangs over this new universe and that the German magazine W&V mentions is that it has not attracted as many followers as previously thought .

According to the Wall Street Journal , Horizon Worlds, the virtual reality environment developed by Meta, currently has fewer than 200,000 monthly active users (Zuckerberg claims 280,000). The target for the end of the year is 500,000 users.

Also, many users do not return to the metaverse after the first month. This is also the case in other similar universes: the Decentraland platform and the The Sandbox metaverse project do not seem to be performing exceptionally well either.

Why the metaverse has no traction? These are its 5 weak points
But despite the low number of visitors it currently has and the little interest it apparently causes among users, the metaverse is, for some experts, "a revolution."

Rolf Schroeter , editor-in-chief of W&V, defends this thesis and points out the weak points of the current metaverse, which can be corrected and improved to make this space the dream place.

1. Hardware
The hardware that makes the metaverse possible is too expensive to attract a mass audience . VR headsets have high prices, as do the headsets and other necessary materials.2. Accessibility:

3. Business
How influencers will take advantage of this space on a commercial level remains to be seen . luxembourg number data Until now, Instagram and other social networks have served as a showcase, but there is still hardly any audience (or followers) in the metaverse.

4. Security
As long as women or vulnerable groups are at risk of being cruelly beaten or vilified, the metaverse will not be a pleasant place. There is a lot of legislation missing in this regard.

5. Design
In a survey, users said they had trouble finding virtual rooms they really liked in Horizon Worlds. In addition, the childish avatars and clumsy movements are far from reality.

Microsoft, Zuckerberg's partner to boost the metaverse
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is Mark Zuckerberg's new strategic partner. In a bid to use the metaverse at work, he says: "People no longer come to the office to meet some company requirements, but to be creative with other people, to exchange ideas."

For this reason, the metaverse can be a great ally for hybrid work models , since it allows meetings, presentations, events and conferences to be held with total flexibility and comf
