The Palau de Les Artes in Valencia will host the 2022 Goya Awards gala on Saturday, February 12. The nominations for this 36th edition of the great event of Spanish cinema have already been published and many people are rushing to see which are the Film Academy's favorite options.

Lovers of the seventh art are preparing to experience the results for themselves and offer their perspective on the best film productions of the year. Some of the films are still in theaters, but others can be seen already (or soon) on platforms such as Netflix , HBO, Movistar+ or Amazon Prime Video .

It is worth noting that, throughout the month of February, the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences will screen the films nominated for best film at its facilities in Madrid. Tickets can be purchased from the Academy's website .

On the other hand, Movistar+ will enable a channel with special programming until February 21st where you can watch the films. Channel 36 is the channel chosen to watch the films or documentaries, which will be available on demand. You can see the complete list with the dates here .

Below, we review where you can see some of the candidates to win a Goya award in any of the categories of the competition.

'The good boss'
As we mentioned before, you can enjoy 'El buen jefe', starring Javier Bardem, in movie theaters, but it will soon be possible to do so on Movistar+.

'Freedom'
Clara Roquet's film is in theaters, so it is not yet on any platform. In March 2022 it will land on Movistar+ .

'Parallel mothers'
Penélope Cruz and Milena Smit star in this film by Pedro Almodóvar, which will be available on Netflix starting February 18 .

'Maixabel'
From February 11, the film will be available on the Goya channel on Movistar+, and before that in cinemas. Blanca Portillo is the first visible face of 'Maixabel', a work by Icíar Bollaín and based on real events.

'Mediterranean'
Directed by Marcel Barrena, this film takes us to Lesbos (Greece) to tell us the odyssey of some Spanish lifeguards. Apart from the cinema, it is available to rent on Filmin and Rakuten TV . On the other hand, it can already be seen on Movistar+.

'The laws of the border'
