Their only fear: that their Internet connection

Keep in touch

The decision to close all schools was made quickly, but the ESLSCA reacted just as quickly, to maintain the link with the students.

" We don't feel isolated or forgotten: we regularly receive emails from the school, which keeps us informed of the arrangements made. We were even asked for a full-scale test of the tool set up by ESLSCA so that classes can resume online from Monday, " reports Aloïse.

" During the transport strike, ESLSCA had already nurse database resorted to distance learning and videoconferencing. In hindsight, this already complicated period is almost seen as training for what awaits us in the coming weeks. So I'm not worried: the teachers remained very available, the lessons were assured " recalls Jérémy.

will be degraded by the intensive use of the network by the confined French – whether they play online, watch VOD films or work from home. “ I already notice a slowdown in my Internet connection at times ,” worries Aloïse. But a priori, the operators say they are ready to withstand the shock, or at worst to prioritize online work tools, to the detriment of entertainment streams.

Keeping the rhythm

The next step is to succeed in working regularly in unusual conditions. Aloïse wants to be positive: “ For many students, school is a reference point, and coming to class is a real motivation. We will have to stay involved despite the isolation, and group work will not be easy to set up. But ultimately, this experience will be educational: we will gain autonomy and organization .”

Jérémy, who is on a work-study program, will have to overcome an additional obstacle: " I will also have to work remotely. It will probably be more complicated, I still often need advice from my colleagues, but everything is still possible when working remotely ," he explains, before concluding: " Perhaps this general lockdown will finally make working remotely a habit in France ."
