#2: Mix a short video into a short video

If your team has a strategy for creating short videos, you can skip the above steps and go straight to what you've already created. In the YouTube app, click the Library button in the main menu. Then go to "Your Clips" and click to open the clip you want to remix. Please note that starting in June 2023, only short clips within your channel's own content will be eligible to import Shorts.

To turn your clips into a short video, use the YouTube mobile app. As of June 2023, YouTube will no longer support remixing content through desktop browsers or YouTube Studio.

In the mobile app, open the clip you want to repurpose and click the Remix button. Select the "Edit as short video" option. Next, use the slider to select the clips you want to repurpose. Since clips are limited to 60 seconds, you can choose to import the entire clip into Short Videos; however, you can always select shorter segments to optimize your Shorts feed.
