Creating a new tag
First, create a new tag in Tag Manager.
If you are not using Universal Analytics, this is a good opportunity to consider adopting it.

Location Container → Create New Tag

2. Setting tags
Next, configure the details of your custom dimension.

Tracking ID Enter the tracking ID (UA-XXXXX-X) of the target site
Tracking Type Select an eventOnce creation is complete, it will be displayed as vp hr email lists shown below. The "index" number written here will be used later. In
this case, the index number is "1", so please remember it.

New Custom Dimensions

Once you've completed the setup on Google Analytics, your own dimension items will have been added and you'll be able to select them.

2. Setting up with Google Tag Manager [4 mins]
There are three settings required:

1. Create a new tag
2. Set the tag
3. Set the delivery timing

There is a lot more you can do with Tag Manager, but for now just try doing what is written here.
