Difference between pageviews, sessions, and users

Post by shaownhasan »

Data is sent to Google Analytics to measure page views

PV refers to the number of times a page was loaded.
However, Google Analytics also has indicators such as "number of sessions" and "number of users."
Some people may be confused because these terms appear on the same report screen and are somewhat similar to PV.
If you do not fully understand the difference between these terms, you will not be ceo email list able to perform a correct access analysis.
Let's review them here to master Google Analytics.

First, a session refers to a series of actions from when a user visits a site until the user leaves (= the session expires).
"Action" here refers to the browsing of pages on the site and events that occur from when the user visits the site until the user leaves.
An event is an action that does not involve a URL transition (= no page movement on the site), such as tapping the phone button or downloading a PDF.
It is important to note that a session may expire and be counted as a new session.

No activity on the site for more than 30 minutes
The date changes while you are visiting the site
The source of the site change (the path to visit the site changes)
