How are the movements recorded by Eye Tracking represented?

It is not enough to understand how eye tracking works . To understand the true magic that can be achieved with this technology, it is essential to also know how this data will be recorded in order to extract relevant information . To represent the recorded movements, heat maps or statistics are made where what visitors have actually perceived and how they have done so is represented in a visual way.

Statistics are measured by saccades and fixations . Fixations are circles with a numerical arrangement that measure in which order visitors have looked at the page. Maps representing eye tracking measurements can be of two types:
Heat maps : these maps represent where the visitor has paid the most attention. The hottest areas, i.e. those that have received the most attention, are marked in red. On the other hand, those that have received the least attention turn yellowish and then turn green if the attention has been minimal. The uncolored areas correspond to those to which the user has not paid any attention.
Shadow maps : These are the opposite of heat maps. This means that the areas marked on the black and dark grey scale are the cold ones and therefore do not appear on the heat map.
