The prices on marketplaces from trusted suppliers are approximately the same. All other things being equal, buyers will choose a platform to which they are already accustomed. And with a high probability, given the current market realities, this will not be Avito," says Vadim Plesskiy.
He cited the Chinese market as an example, where people make many purchases via messengers, such as WeChat. "For a Chinese consumer, a bulletin board service in the form of a website is not of great value. And there is no centralized national messenger like WeChat in Russia. The closest is the VKontakte social network with its built-in messenger - it is more convenient for a buyer to buy the necessary goods this way, rather than using the Avito bulletin board," Vadim Plessky believes.
