Determine the scope of the project and the resources required
Before you begin the resource scheduling process, start by determining the scope of the project and what resources you need to complete it. While you're at it, keep the following in mind.
Time available : Think beyond the number of working days. Also consider whether there are other free days when people can club together for a long weekend or a big internal event that your team can participate in.
Required Skills : Identify all the skills you need to complete the project, including technical, operational and managerial skills.
Resources needed : One person can have more than one qualification. Several people can have the same competency. Create the optimal mix of team members to build the skills you need.
Work Breakdown Structure (WBS): Break down the project into small, hierarchical, manageable it directors managers email list components, i.e., tasks.

Dependencies : Describe the order in which your teams should complete tasks and how one influences preceding or following activities.
Constraints : Is the project on a tight deadline ? Are there fewer people than you think you need? Is the budget limited? Does your team work in different time zones that don't match up?
Identify any obstacles you may encounter. Also, assess the demand for resources within your organization to improve skills sharing.
Project Outcomes and Measures of Success : Write down what you expect from each team member and how you will measure their performance. This will ensure that everyone is on the same page and working together.
