WPBeginner turns 6 – Looking back at the past and looking into the future

Today is America's birthday and (more importantly) the birthday of WPBeginner, which turns 6 years old today. It's crazy to think that WPBeginner is six years old, but it's true!

This year's celebration will be a little different. Instead of hosting mega giveaways and building 3 schools, I want to take a step back and reflect on this journey, share some key milestones and what lies ahead.


I was 16 years old when I first discovered WordPress in 2006. It didn't take long for me to fall in love with the platform.

In 2009 (at age 19), I founded WPBeginner with a mission to make WordPress easy by providing innovative and helpful WordPress tutorials that are easy to understand for small businesses, bloggers, and non-technical website owners.

Since then, WPBeginner has grown into one of the list of bahamas cell phone number largest free WordPress resource sites in the industry.

In November, I was recognized by the United Nations as one of the 100 best entrepreneurs under 30. That was super COOL!

Self-talk and Envira
In August 2014, through a merger/acquisition, I became a partner of two top-notch WordPress plugins: Soliloquy (the fastest WordPress slider plugin) and Envira Gallery (the best gallery plugin).

This was very exciting because I love both of these plugins. I wrote more about this partnership on my personal blog .

Last year we decided to focus on the WPBeginner YouTube channel and ramp up our production.The results have been phenomenal. We have surpassed 1.6 million total video views and have almost 19,000 subscribers!
