Ctrl + S is a universal keyboard shortcut to save your work across different applications. When a beginner starts using WordPress, it is a really strange experience that the most commonly used keyboard shortcut is not available. In this article, we will show you how to save and preview WordPress posts using Ctrl + S or Cmd + S for Mac users.

Before we begin, you are probably wondering if WordPress doesn't use the universal keyboard shortcut, how does it save? Well, WordPress has a very smart autosave feature that automatically saves your post changes in your browser and in the database.

However, autosave malfunctions or other accidents can definitely lead to a loss of work. The best way to avoid this is to save the post manually. WordPress does have a save button that you can press manually, but this is simply inefficient.

First, you need to install and activate the Quick Preview list of chile cell phone number plugin. After activation, you need to visit the Settings ยป Quick Preview page to configure the plugin.

Quick preview settings

You can choose to open the preview in the same window or in a new window. If you open the preview in the same window, you will exit the editing screen.

We recommend that you open the previews in a new window. It will then be easier to continue editing when you switch tabs. If you chose the "New Window" option, simply save your changes.

Now we can see the plugin in action. All you need to do is create a new post or edit an existing post.

Once you are in the post editor, press Ctrl + S on your keyboard (Cmd + S for Mac). WordPress will immediately save your post and open the preview in a new window.
