Are social signals SEO ranking factors or NOT?

Google said that they are not properly recognized as a factor for organic positioning , so NO, period, but…

When people share your content on social media, they create a connection to your content, a link like any other link on the web that points to the resource.

Despite the official statement from the Mountain denmark number for whatsapp View giant, Searchmetrics has published a white paper where it states that:

The correlation between social signals and ranking position is extremely high

— Searchmetrics

While it is not a ranking factor for Google, it is for Bing.

Let's go back to Google and Searchmetrics. Searchmetrics didn't say that Google is talking nonsense, but that social media may not be a ranking factor for Google, yet it can improve the ranking of the site through other ranking factors generated by social media (for example, Backlinks and popularity of the content within social media) that Google, instead, officially considers.

Ultimately, every link on social media is considered just like any other link on the internet from an authoritative site.

How? Essentially because, if the content is shared, the presence of links on the web is multiplied and, therefore, these are essentially natural activities that generate backlinks to the resource.

Furthermore, and I add this, social interaction communicates to the engine an important factor related to the pleasantness of the content which, combined with the FDR, and the dwell times, can measure the infamous user experience.

After all, how else could user experience, that is, human pleasure, be recorded?
